Elle’s collaboration with Chicago neighbors to achieve food security in interim shelters and city-wide housing retention introduced her to the relationship-building aspect of holistic service planning for societal transformation. Elle pursued her bachelor’s degree in sociology, anthropology, and African Studies at Loyola University Chicago, and has since been invested in growing her skills to co-create human-centered case plans for permanently housing Minnesota neighbors. Elle’s primary goals in her AmeriCorps service are to center the stories and lived experiences of those she works with and to address their needs at the micro, meso, and macro levels.
